Soundgarden
NOVEMBER 16TH @ 6PM & NOVEMBER 17TH @7PM ON 99X

After splitting in 1997, iconic rockers Soundgarden decided in 2009 to reunite and are now set to release King Animal, their first album in 16 years. Since announcing their reunion, Soundgarden has played a number of live dates, including a headlining slot at 2010’s Lollapalooza in Chicago and released the retrospective collection Telephantasm.
Earlier this year, the band released “Live To Rise,” their first new single since reuniting, on the soundtrack to the smash hit movie The Avengers (where the song also appeared over the end credits of the film). On Tuesday, November 13, Soundgarden will release King Animal on Republic Records. "It isn’t really a matter of reinventing ourselves for a new chapter,” says singer Chris Cornell. “There’s quite a bit of natural progression in just living life for 15 years....our lives progressed as they would have done if we’d still been together. We were just catching up.”
Inside Soundgarden: King Animalfeatures Cornell, Kim Thayil,Ben Shepherd and Matt Camerondiscussing the new album and the band’s reunion with Matt Pinfield. The broadcast special also features brand new songs from King Animal, including the single “Been Away Too Long.”
